how it works

The (not-so-scary) science bit

So how exactly does the Econoflow Ventilation system work? Well, it’s actually pretty straightforward (another reason why our clients love it).

The Econoflow Ventilation system operates as follows. It:

  • Uses cool air from around your home, reducing internal temperatures (and therefore those expensive air conditioning costs!)
  • Uses a low-power, high-flow, continuously-rated AC fan to exhaust hot air from your roof space, replacing it with cool air from underneath your household eaves.
  • Is controlled with a slick digital control panel.
  • Does the job of more than 10 wind-powered domestic whirlybirds.

What this means for you (the benefits!)

  • You don’t need to spend as much money on cooling and heating costs (the cost to run is less that 2 cents an hour at current rates).
  • There are NO ugly roof penetrations. (It’s installed within the roof space, so it’s all done internally)
  • You can take charge of roof space temperatures.
  • You can turn the system off in the winter, or simply adjust it to allow for higher roof space temperatures, trapping valuable solar energy within the roof space.

How this compares to other ventilation systems

Will it work on your home?

Take our quick-fire quiz to find out!

  • Do the eaves around your home measure a minimum of 400mm?
  • Do you have access to your internal roof cavity?

If you answered yes to both the above, then YES, Econoflow Ventilation will work on your home.

Points to consider

  • The system works best where the pitch of your roof is 22 degrees or greater. It will work on a lower pitch, but the efficiency won’t be quite as good.
  • If your roof space is more than 300m2 a multi unit might be needed.

If either of these applies to your home, give us a call and we’ll talk it through to make sure you’re armed with all the facts before making a decision.
